Monotube Performance, Built for the Track

The R2 series is the sharpest tool in the VREL lineup. Its defining feature is the monotube design: a single high-pressure tube with a large piston and a separate gas chamber, separating oil and gas completely. For track-focused drivers, that architecture is the difference between damping that fades and damping that holds.

Why Monotube Matters

A larger piston means finer control over oil flow at every stroke, so the damper responds to small, fast inputs — the kind you get at speed — with precision a twin-tube can't match. The separated gas chamber suppresses aeration under sustained heat, keeping the damping curve consistent from the first lap to the last. Around that core: 55CrSi chromoly steel springs, NOK oil seals, and FUCHS shock oil, validated across a -40°C to 200°C working range, with damping adjustment to tune the balance of your specific platform.

What It Feels Like at Speed

R2 communicates. Every surface change, every weight shift arrives clearly through the chassis, and the car responds to inputs the moment you make them. Under hard braking the nose stays controlled; mid-corner the car holds its line on throttle; over crests it stays composed instead of going light. It is firm, focused, and unapologetically track-biased.

Below it, the twin-tube R1 Plus covers dual-purpose driving brilliantly at a friendlier price. R2 is for the driver whose priority is outright performance — time attack, HPDE regulars, and street cars that spend real time at the circuit. If lap consistency is the goal, this is the series.
